And when I am not out in the field or recounting stories from my travels, I teach people how to become more resilient leaders. I empower people with the mindset of successful explorers and adventurers. Those who go into dangerous and unknown environments and live to share with the world. An indomitable mindset that can help people achieve what they thought was impossible.

I am an adventure journalist and host of the highly rated podcast Whiskey and a Map. My travels take me to the world’s wild places to experience the people, cultures and wildlife that live there and bring back their stories. These adventures have taken me across four continents and into the jungles of Borneo and Cambodia, the highlands of Guatemala, across Europe, and among the villages of Kenya. In my podcast, now in its 5th season, I interview the world’s best explorers and adventurers.

In my other professional life, I have held numerous leadership positions which include:

· Presiding Judge, Kings Co. Superior Court

· Assistant District Attorney  

· Lead prosecutor in the Hells Angels motorcycle gang case

· President Rotary Club of Hanford

· Board member United Way of Kings Co.

· Adventure racing team captain-Winner of the 4 winds Adventure Racing Series
