Michael J. Reinhart is an adventure photographer, speaker and explorer. He produces and hosts the podcast Whiskey and a Map featuring interviews with the world’s most interesting adventurers and explorers. From his young years when his mother would watch him disappear out the back yard only to return hours later with a “treasure”, he has spent his life exploring the world: Scuba diver from the age of 13; Sailing a few years later; Mountaineer; and Adventure Racer.
He has traveled and photographed in many far-off places around the world, and his travels include racing in the Eco-Challenge Expedition Race-Borneo, exploring the Caribbean coast of Mexico and the Yucatan, summiting Mount Rainier, travels through Eastern Europe during its communist days and diving wrecks off the coast of California.
Michael has worked in-country on humanitarian and medical projects in Guatemala and Kenya. He is a volunteer advisor to an Anti-Poaching NGO working to save Africa’s elephant and Rhino.
He has degrees in Economics, Social Ecology-Criminology, a Juris Doctorate and a post graduate Diploma in International Law.

Michael Reinhart has spent a lifetime of adventure and Exploration. From his young years when his mother would watch him disappear out the back yard only to return hours later with a “treasure”, he has been scuba diving from the age of 13 and ocean sailing a few years later. A dedicated mountaineer and adventure racer, Michael has been part of many successful expedition teams. In recent years, he has worked in country on humanitarian projects with the local Mayan peoples of Guatemala as part of field medical and construction teams. This October we are going back to Nakuru Kenya to set up another temporary dental clinic at Hopewell High School. We expect our dentists and oral surgeon will treat more than 500 kids over several days. Most of these kids had never seen a dentist and many are suffering. After the clinic, its off to the bush to interview Maasai tribesmen and photograph wildlife in the Maasai Mara Reserve.
